When people ask me what kind of dslr do they need to buy so that they will have a good quality pictures. It kind of irks me actually to answer the question because one, if they want a quality picture they can get that even if you're not using a dslr second, it's all about composition and lastly you don't need to buy one if you don't really plan to explore the settings of it.
I started doing photography way back in college and got myself a first point and shoot digital camera in 2007. Since then I was taking a lot of pictures from landscapes to portrait shots as a practice. In 2011, I got my first nikon dslr and exposed myself more to photoshoots. Whenever I get to travel I would always bring my camera with me and just take a lot of photos. At some point if I need a subject for portrait shots I would ask some of my good friends to model for me. I read a lot about photography but I don't religiously follow it from a to b. You just need to know the basics as your foundation and you should be ready to explore by yourself. Travelling is fun specially if you'll be visiting places that has greater landscapes so you can practice more. When you follow your guts then you can take a lot of good photos. I don't only limit myself taking pictures of nature. I try different subjects for varieties. Right now, I'm more into portrait shots to try fashion photography.
So the next time someone would ask me the same question I will ask them questions too so they can get the answer that they're looking for.
