Whenever I have my outfit shoot for the day I always thought that I'm a ten feet tall when I'm really not. My height is only 5'7 and that's not bad enough right? right! Lol. Anyway for this outfit I just wore a very simple statement tee, dark pants and boots. I know I live in a tropical country so boots isn't really appropriate but for the past couple of weeks it's been raining cats and dogs so I thought it's the best time for me to wear one. I was a photographer that day which is always my first love and I had a quick outfit shot taken by my client :-) Don't forget to Hype me on my lookbook, follow me on instagram: nabztravel , Twitter: Ndurado, Google+ and Bloglovin.

My friend who is now celebrating his birthday thought of making a dance video. It's been awhile since we dance together so even with my super busy schedule I tried to squeezed in an almost two hours of practice and an hour of dance video making. It was quite craaazy to be honest because the last time we danced together was probably four years ago. Although I've been very active in performing on stage for my musical theater stint it's been awhile for me to dance a pop music. But heck, it is a birthday request of our dear friend so we went for it. The following day we were messaging each other the intensity of body ache we got from making the video, lol. Anyway, I'd like to share this video :-) Happy birthday again to my dear friend and blogger bestie jephyogalifestyleetc.wordpress.com More photos below. The lush greenery gigantic lagoon, defeaning silence of nature, countless adventure and enchanting beauty of Sohoton, Bucas Grande makes want to go back in that paradise over and over again. I know, I know, I know......the wait has been too long! But hey, it's better late than never right?! Today, I'd like to share our exquisitely beautiful Sohoton photos. It was just such a perfectly picturesque destination that even the worst photo taker in the history of picture taking could do no wrong in this place. Sohoton has definitely made it to my top list of destination! Let me congratulate you if you reach the bottom of this post. I know I flooded a lot of photos because as a blogger myself I would want to let my readers and that includes you! To see how beautiful the places I've been going to, that way, if you have plan of visiting one of these places then you have an idea of what the place looks like. But if you're the type of "Surprise me" person then I tell that the photos you see on my blog would be even more prettier in the actual :-) I will be sharing more of the details of where we stayed etc. towards the end of this post. In the meantime... here are the pictures :-)! It's been raining months! How are you guyz? I'd love to hear from you :-) Leave a comment by clicking the comment section above. The diving platform wasn't too high compared to the one I've tried in Boracay ( Check out my Ariel's point boracay post under Philippines Tab on this blog ). What scared me most diving in the place was the thought that there might be a creature under the water. Because the water looks so perfect you would really think it's a place for mermaids and creatures. I know, I have a lot of paranoias. Good news? It's really safe to jump into the water. Tadaaaaa the stingless jelly fish. I would really dare myself to jump into the water and swim together with the rest of the stingless jellyfishes but we just learned that it was recently prohibited because they are getting lesser and lesser as most of them died due to the chemicals coming from sunblocks used by people who swims in there Surigao offers so many adventures and for thrill seeker like me you would definitely love the place. Someone needs to pinch me because until right now I still couldn't believe that I've been to this place I'm only seeing over the internet. I highly recommend to put this place in your itinerary and you will never regret. I would like to thank so many people for making this Surigao adventure possible. First, my cousin Ely who went home all the way from Jeddah. Barbs, Chok, Andan from Davao and to our driver who safely brought us to Surigao.
To Mam Betty who managed the resort where we stayed in Sohoton. Thank you so much for arranging our trip from Hayanggabon port all the way to your resort. Hidden Island Resort: Brgy, Doña HeleneSocorro, Surigao Del Norte, Philippines 0917 328 2448http://hiddenislandresort.ph/ I'm back again to continue my blog about our Surigao adventure. I know it's been a month already but I really want to take time in sharing all the details about our summer trip. If you have read my previous posts, our first day in Surigao del Sur was jam packed. Visiting the two renowned destination in Mindanao, tinuy-an falls in Bislig and enchanted river in Hinatuan. It was indeed a tiring day but absolutely fun. On the same day we went to San Agustin where Brittania group of island is located and where we will be staying our first night at Ysha's rest house. Finally, after long-hour of road trip we will be resting our tired feet. We left Hinatuan around 5pm so by 6pm we were still on the bumpy road on our way to San Agustin, travel time was two hours. The road going to San Agustin was really dark. There were only very few lights on the streets and lots of coconut trees. Some of my cousins were starting to tell about ghost stories, which added to the thrill. We arrived safely to our destination of stay :-) As we placed our things we ordered food for our dinner. I forgot what food we ordered but I remembered they were affordable and of course suuuuuuper yummy. Food in the province are just heavenly delicious. While taking our dinner we spotted a karaoke machine in the dining hall so instead of going back to the room we immediately grab the mic and started to make noise, lol. We have the dining hall on our own so we felt like we were having a concert that night even though we were all tired. Heck, we only see each other once a year so we made sure that we make memories despite the lack of sleep and rest.
The following day, we woke up soooo early, around 5:30am to start our island hopping. It was drizzling when we woke up so we were a bit worried. Good thing, by 6am the sun showed and smiled upon us, whew. We knew it will be another hell of a fun trip for adventure thirst like us. We visited four islands: naked island, hagonoy island, hiyor-hiyoran island and buslon island. Britannia is composed of 24 islands and islets. Six of which can be visited. I wouldn't know how to get there honestly since we rented a van for our entire Surigao trip. But I gathered few in formations from the local on how people can get there which I will be sharing at the end of this blog. For now, feel free to browse the photo below showcasing the stunning beauty of Brittania group of islands. Hey hey hey guyz! I'm back! I sooooo miss you all! It's been a week that I have not posted anything on this blog but it feels like forever. Seriously I miss you guyz and this blog. I've been very busy lately in the dance studio since I handled a group of people who joined a dance competition for a company's event. So my life was more in the studio. Anyway highways, last week, if you've been following me on my instagram, I've been posting a lot of photos about the bloggers bazaar event happened in the newly Outlet Store in Lapu-Lapu, Cebu.It was a super fun shop day for everyone. I was so happy to be part of the event because I get to meet my fellow bloggers from Cebu and Manila fashion bloggers including David Guison,Lisa Kahayun, Camille Co and Cebuana blogger Kryz Uy. Each of the fashion bloggers has their own booth selling their pre-loved items. Everything was absolutely in a loooooower price! I was really happy to see that most of the items were really affordable. It was my first time to attend such event and I really had fun. You may want to check The Outlet at Pueblo Verde,MEZ II, Basak, Lapu-Lapu where outlet stores sell their items up to 70% discount all year round! Few years ago, I was just reading some interesting blogs about unspoiled places in the Philippines when I saw this photo of enchanted river taken by my kababayan from Davao, Jojie Alcantara. I was astonish to see photo of a crystal-blue water vividly showing the depth of the river from atop. I couldn't even believe what I saw that I wanted so bad to visit the place long before it became popular to both local and foreign tourists. Luckily, we spent our summer vacation in Surigao, finally! From Davao, we traveled for almost five hours visiting Tinuy-an falls as our first stop ( published on a separate post ) then we traveled again for another one hour going to Hinatuan where enchanted river is. I have to be honest that the travel wasn't easy. It was pretty much tiring and the road was really bumpy. Good thing we hired a van for the whole trip otherwise we wouldn't be able to cover all the places we have listed in our itinerary in just three days. When we got to Hinatuan we stopped by first in a food stall, which is just three minutes walk from where the river is, to order some food for our lunch. They served fresh sea foods that are not cook yet and you just pay them to cook it for you. In the local they call it "paluto". The price of "paluto" or cooking would depends on the number of food they are going to prepare. For our lunch, we just ordered "sinigang na hipon" (shrimp stew), grilled fish, a small thin salted dried fried fish or "danggit" and a platter of rice. I forgot the price of each food that we ordered but the total we paid was around P600, not pretty bad right! After ordering our food we then head to the most exciting part, the enchanted river. It was around 12 noon we we got to the place and we were surprised to see hundreds of people who were there. Yes hundreds! The cottages were full packed and people were everywhere! I thought we wouldn't be able to get in and secure a cottage. Good thing our driver have been there numerous times and he has a contact person inside. So we were able to get a cottage. It was quite chaotic due to the number of people who were there. 12 noon is usually the time for fish feeding in the river but because we were too hungry we forgot about it already. We took our lunch first to feed our growling tummies then we went to the river. When I first saw the river I got instantly mesmerized by the bluish water. The sight was absolutely spectacular! The limpidity of the water was exquisite. The fish population was healthy. There was a lot of big fish! What an absolute treat. I talked to some locals and they share that "NOBODY" has been successful in catching the fish in this river, whether by hand or by spear. In addition, numbers of professional divers have tried to reach the bottom of the river but no one has ever reached nor found the bottom of it. Legend has it that in the early years when locals would go to the river by night time some of them would see some few fairies playing around the area. Very Enchanted right! My cousin, who always bring a go pro asked me to accompany him in his first jump to the river. At first, I got cold feet because looking at the water makes me think that I will not be able to float. There were quite a few numbers of people swimming around but with life jacket. Just for the sake of photos and videos I braved myself to dare and dive into the water together with my cousin who is also not wearing a life jacket. Our first jump wasn't too bad but we struggled by floating into the water. What I realized was the current of the water was a bit strong like it's sucking you down. Scary to be honest but super worth the experience. I rented a snorkeling gear for P50 so I can really see what's under. I highly advised to bring your own one because the river is perfect for snorkeling activity. By 3pm we were asked to stop swimming around the area for their scheduled cleaning time. They played a song and the big fishes started coming out from the bottom of the river. There were a lot of them! I could just imagine the number of fishes during feeding time. We stayed until 5pm which is the closing time. After enchanted river we headed to Brittania group of Islands which I will be posting in the coming days so watch out for that! What we have discovered is the stunning beauty of this very enchanting river. The place lives up to its name. The First PlungeEnchanted River Fees:
How to get to Enchanted River? From Butuan City you can take a bus going to Hinatuan town. In Butuan terminal you can just ask the local as to which bus you're going to ride. Just mention that you are going to enchanted river since most people there knows which bus you need to take. From Hinatuan town proper you can hire a motorcycle or in local they call it habal-habal to take you to enchanted river. Usually the fare would be P40 but I would suggest to contract the driver for a back and forth ride roughly around P200-P250 just to make sure that you have a ride when you leave enchanted river. It's the birthday celebration of Buddha with a performance from my family Siddhartha the musical casts. I was supposed to perform with them but due to my photography duties I wasn't able to practice. I wasn't feeling well when I went to the event as I only have two hours of sleep for two days because of editing videos for my recent covered event which will be posted here within this week. Anyway highways, feel free to browse the photos below and I'll let the photo speak for themselves, lol :-) It was really a fun day for everyone!
Summer is officially over as of today, sad. I have so many stories to tell with my recent adventure to Surigao for my summer escapade. Do you have any summer stories? I'd like to hear from you! Kindly click the comment above: -) They say (bloggers) Tinuy-an falls is the little Niagra falls of Mindanao. I should say yes! The width and measured of the falls would really justify its title. Until now, I still can't believe I saw the promising falls of Bislig, Surigao del Sur Itineraries:
Transportation: Rented a Van We planned for this trip three months ago when my cousin, who works abroad, planned to visit Surigao. We were all thrilled for the adventure including me because it will be the very first time that we will be going out of Davao for adventure composed of cousins. Ever since we were kids we used to have a family outings but only within Davao. So the trip for us was very memorable. Our journey began in Davao. We left the City around 4am by van , passed by different municipalities and had a quick stop over in a place, which I forgot the name, for breakfast and off our way to Bislig city where the famous falls is located. Our travel time was five hours and we have arrived in Tinuy-an falls around 9am. I was still a bit groggy when we got there since the road we passed by were a bit bumpy and I have a vertigo. So wasn't feeling good when we got there but was trying to ignore my dizziness. Upon arriving in the area and saw the falls I got hyped and went rush on changing my outfit for my look which you will see on a separate post :-) The whole place itself is really refreshing. It was running 35 degrees at that time and the splash of the water from the falls helps to give a cool atmosphere in the whole area. After a few shots of my outfit and taking photos and videos of the area we went up to the top part of the falls to see the aerial view. The way going up to the top was quite difficult and steep. But when we got there we were in total awe of the beauty of the entire place. I felt like I was in a different country exploring the jungle of Africa. I took some few shots and tried the water. The current of the water was really strong and it felt like someone is massaging my back. We were just really careful of our steps because the stones were really slippery. I would advised for you to buy a slipper or sandal that can used for trekking and slippery areas. We only stayed in Tinuy-an for about two hours so that we can move to Enchanted river, which is an hour away from Bislig City,to catch the feeding time of fishes around 12:00pm.
How to get there?
Honestly, I wouldn't really know the alternative routes of going to Bislig City since we rented a van coming from Davao. But I got some information from my friends who have been there and took alternatives routes. Manila-Butuan: There's a direct flight Manila-Butuan via Cebu Pacific Ride a bus named "bachelor express" with the signage Mangagoy. Travel time would be 3-4hours. When you get to the terminal of Mangagoy, you can hire a tricycle or single motorcycle which in local they call it "habal-habal". The price would also depend on your haggle style :-) Cebu-Butuan: Cebu Pacific direct flight Cebu-Butuan Same route when you get to Butuan if you're coming from Manila Davao-Mangagoy From what I know is there's no direct bus from Davao-Mangagoy so you would have to take the long route which is Davao-Butuan (travel time 7-8hours) then Butuan-Mangagoy for 3-4hours. Yeah looooong route. Valles Phone number: 0918 2604151 Watch out for more posts of our Surigao Adventure If you have read my previous post, I just recently went home to Davao for a quick vacation before we start our Surigao adventure. Our first trip in Davao was at Isla reta, Samal Island ( check my separate post of Isla Reta ). Since Isla Reta is a perfect place for photo shoots I asked my niece Princess G. to do a shoot with me. I was supposed to take a photos of her around 4pm as a perfect time for natual color. But since I was having a migraine when we got to the island,I fell asleep. I woke up almost 6pm so there's no natural light anymore. I'm not a fan of flashes so bear with the photo if you find it in low light.
Anyway highways, let me introduce to you first my niece who's my model, Princess G. She is currently residing in Davao working as a teacher. A fashion fanatic and loves rock music. You'll find her interesting because she's pa Girl but a rakista by heart. Without further ado, feel free to browse her photos. Finally, I'm done with my summer escapade! Whew, I though I will not be able to make habol for the summer after so many commitments and busy schedules. Good thing, our Surigao adventure really pushed through and I'll be sharing the details to you all in a few days :-) How bout you guys, how's your summer escapade? I'd love to hear from you! Kindly click the comment section above to share you stories. Hi weebly and my readers! I miss you sooooo much! I was on my summer vacay for about a week and never had a chance to update my blog due to successive itineraries of our adventures. Honestly, I was trying to get away from my lappy just so I can maximize my time with my summer vacation. For this getaway, I decided to go home to Davao since my cousin, who lives abroad, will be coming home for a month long vacation. And he wanted to have a family outing. So he asked me to book a flight a month ago so I can be with them. I was pretty much excited because it's been awhile since the last time I bond with my relatives in Davao. And when we bond together we normally do abnormal things, Lol
My cousin chose Isla reta for our outing since they've been there numerous times and they always find the island very interesting. For this getaway, we prepared food for our trip, most of them were sea foods and water. On the day of our trip we woke up a bit late and it was raining that day so we were a bit anxious about what will going to happen. Good thing on our way to the Wharf the sun shines upon us, wohooo! It was 12pm when we got to the port and there's only one boat which was about to leave, whew. Boat schedules: 10:00 AM 12:30 PM 1:50 PM 3:15 PM From Davao City, you can go to Sta. Ana Wharf located right beside Magsaysay park. When you get to the Wharf you can ask the coast guards or any local as to which boat is going to Talicud Island. Fare is around P80 per head. Travel time usually is an hour. The resort have a number of open cottages and closed one They don't have an aircondition room and wifi. Many of the vsitors to the island normally go on a tent and if you don't have one they also have one for rent for P400 excluding the pillow the and blanket. The room that we stayed was P800 pesos good for four person. You get to enjoy the beach in a lower price. |
